Q&A with Nirav Mehta, Lead Mission Manager

‍Q: What excites you the most about working at a company like Apex?

I’m most excited to work at company like Apex while the team is growing at a fast rate and at such an early stage. There’s a lot of opportunity to improve the speed and cost of space manufacturing and to be given a clean sheet is rare. It has been great to work alongside and learn from colleagues who have a lot of experiences in the space, automotive, and defense industries.

Q: Why are you excited about space?

With a third wave of New Space companies in sprouting up,I am excited about all the new applications that companies will be able to develop.

Q: You are somewhat new here at Apex. What has surprised you the most so far?

I am probably most surprised by how quickly the team has moved from clean sheet design to launch ready on our first vehicle Aries. The focus and dedication of the team has been refreshing and I can’t wait to ramp production across our product line. I have also been surprised at the great customer reception Apex has received and how interested defense and commercial customers are to rapidly field vehicles based on Apex buses.

Q: Tell us a bit about what you do in your free time.

In my free time I enjoy travelling and spending time with family and friends. I am a big car fan and love following Formula 1 as well. When I have a chance on weekend mornings, Iike driving through the Malibu canyons and stopping by various Cars andCoffees throughout LA.

I’m also a huge fan of movies and enjoy catching a movie or two a month in theaters on the biggest screens.
