Satellite bus manufacturing has been highly bespoke, with high prices and long lead times, until now. Apex’s line of off-the-shelf satellite buses — that is, the main body of the satellite that hosts power, wiring, chips, etc. — means that more companies can access space without having to worry about developing their own satellite bus in-house.

Almost 3,000 satellites are launched per year and that number will only grow. Virtually, all satellites use custom designed busses, despite their payload missions being similar. Apex is looking to change that on episode 58 of S3, sponsored by Andreessen Horowitz.
